Description

Took some time away from commissions to redesign and redraw Alina. I like this version of her much more than her previous. ^^ Alina Sinclair by Otakatt

And she's cute here, too! The adorableness carried over, but she's got a much more active, energetic personality here, which I like! I like how she looks with the big, open smile, and I like how her eyes are looking at the viewer, and how she's waving at us. (That hand looks pretty good, too! :D ) I love the pose here, particularly how she's....um, sweeping her arm down and how that lets her magic wand trail some magic-stuff and adds this sense of motion to her pose. (Hey, that hand looks great, too! ) Though, that magic is doing the lion's share of work communicating that motion; the arm doesn't carry much of it through -- it looks like it's extended out in front of her, not so much that it's been pulled down. Bending the elbow just a bit, so we could see how the hand is dragged behind the motion of the arm as the elbow cuts down through the air might've animated the movement of that arm a little more.

I think the rest of her figure is posed really well, too. I like how the whole body has a great bend/curve from the pose, and how it looks really dynamic and energetic! In the first pic, she was standing straight, and it was mostly her arms that made her pose interesting; here, her whole body carries this sense of energy through and makes for an even more exciting pose.

And her outfit! It's cute! X3 It's really interesting to see how you took the same colors and did something pretty different with them! And first off, I like the boots a lot more here; the lighter color, and the tighter fit make them feel like they belong on her with the rest of the outfit. And I like how you carried the lines through on the tops of the boots, too -- they're cute! I like the blue-er feel of the outfit, and I like the little ruffly shape on the bottom of her skirt. I like what you did with the shirt, too -- you carried the lines through a little more throughout the whole outfit, added a little bit more detail with the different design (buttons, a collar to the shirt) that I think fits with the personality she shows in this pic -- the outfit looks a bit more practical for someone whose energetic and playful and adventuresome. It has more visual excitement to it, I guess. And...yeah. It's suuuuper adorable!

And. You know. I love your colors, AS ALWAYS. Seriously, your work is so professional and polished and lovely.

LOVE IT. :+fav:
